they say that at the start of every year, you have to de-clutter. get rid of everything you don't need in your closets and cabinets, throw old papers and folders that you don't need to recycling, and i guess de-cluttering also includes deleting files from your cellphone that you don't really need.
i'm fond of taking pictures with my cellphone, despite being low resolution, i somehow still like "capturing moments" once in a while. and i discovered its amazing how many moments you do capture in the span of one year.
i would like to share with you a few photos of what i would say are major moments of my 2009 that i captured with my simple phone camera.
january 2009, help kids learn project level up.
for my friend drew's birthday, he worked with help kids learn project and raised funds through a run to build classrooms. amazing how good attracts good because we also found the generosity and good heart of architect naniong who is overseeing all plans.
march 2009, its official.
this year was also extremely major in terms of my matters of the heart, because it was when i officially "got together" with vince. :p (oh craaaap! i have a stupid smile on my face while typing this.)
august 2009, thank you president cory.
it was a sad, sad time for all filipinos, but it was also a time that proved that we can all be united for one common purpose. one of the most memorable funeral days in philippine history, and it was an honor to witness it.
september 2009, when manila stopped for ondoy.
i remember the surreal feeling of being stuck on edsa for six hours and listening to all the news reports on dzmm. i remember the surreal feeling of watching all the news coverage by the time i got home safe. the next few weeks after that were still surreal, but inspiring. everyone was a hero.
november 2009, welcome to the world baby roco!
it was a bit past midnight, manila time, and i was at work. i got a phone call from my brother. "is this ninang bianca?" my tears of joy literally flowed like a river non-stop!!!! after our conversation, laughing at myself, i took a snapshot of my tears on these steps.
decluttering not only feels good, not only makes you feel lighter, but it also sort of takes you back in time and reminds you of things, learnings, and feelings you had through the year. awesome. :)
